OCC's Amazing Summer 2009
Tonight marks the FANTASTICALLY FUN finale (and parking lot carnival!) to The TREK Vacation Bible Camp...Overlake's single, largest annual outreach to children. Wow. What a week. A majority of the kids had NEVER been to our Vacation Bible Camp OR Overlake!
Here's how VBC stacked up:
- 800+ KIDS registered
- 500 Families represented
- 400 Volunteers who served so well
- $6,000 Given by the kids to help fight human trafficking/slavery
- 75 or more children began a relationship of love with Jesus
Amazing.
Add to that our just-ended HOUSEBOATS high school outreach (with nearly 100 students)...many making life changing commitments to Jesus AND our FOOD DRIVE that generated 1,500 pounds of food for under-resourced/homeless people in our region and it's clear - OCC is Loving God, Loving People and Serving the World in a major way this summer.
And it's only July.
Read on and get involved with COMMUNITY SERVE DAY, help at a HIV/AIDS Family Camp, sharpen your leadership gift at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit, have your heart renewed at Beth Moore's Living Proof LIVE! or at the Casting Cowns/Matt Redman concert...
PLUS...there are TONS more things for kids to do coming up including next week's Ambassadors in Sports Soccer Camp, Jr. High Camp/Wenatchee on the Columbia River, along with Camp Berachah and 5 DAZE of Fun for elementary age students.
AND OF COURSE...
...this Sunday at Overlake at 9 am, 11 am and 6 pm, Pastor Mike continues his series on Nehemiah...and how God works miracles in the midst of seemingly, insurmountable obstacles. Many of us facing the challenges of life in 2009 can relate.
So JOIN US THIS SUNDAY and be encouraged, connect with people who care and let God lovingly move in your heart.
We'll see you this weekend!
