When Jesus came to bring life and freedom to the world, his strategy was remarkably simple: He poured His life and love into a small group - his disciples. The book of Acts 2 in the Bible describes the first "church" as people meeting house to house, sharing their lives, their possessions, their food, and their new Christian faith.
Real community and life change happens in small groups just as it does in a family where people pray for each other, worship together, learn about God and experience His presence together.
Life Groups are central to Overlake's vision because they are a rich environment for people to SERVE the WORLD together and to go deeper in their LOVE for God and others.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching
and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.
All the believers Were together and had everything in
common. Every day they continued to meet together...They
broke bread in their homes and ate Together...and
the Lord added to their numbers daily those who were being
saved.
