At Overlake Christian Church we believe it is essential that couples considering marriage receive practical biblical teaching and training on marriage and family. The counseling department of OCC is committed to helping couples build the foundation for a fulfilling lifelong commitment to marriage. It is our goal to strengthen each couple’s relationship with God as well as their relationship to each other.
Overlake Christian Church offers an intensive nine-week marriage preparation class to evaluate and train couples wishing to be married. The Pre-Marriage class is offered on a rotating basis throughout the year. The class operates in a small group format with a mature, mentoring couple facilitating the training and discussion. Each couple will also take the Prepare/Enrich inventory to help evaluate and assess their relationship strengths and weaknesses. The Pre-marital class is required for all couples wishing to be married on the OCC campus or by an OCC pastor off campus.

Marriage and parenting are the most important responsibilities in life, and sometimes we need experienced couples to show us a better way. Take advantage of what other couples have learned from years of experience.
Taking advantage of Marriage Mentoring is for couples of all ages or years of marriage. It is not an admission of failure but a commitment to have God’s best in your marriage or family. Marriage mentoring is not counseling but periodic meetings with a mentor couple to help you perfect your skills in areas like spiritual growth, goal setting, parenting, finances, communication or empty nest issues. The mentoring relationship is for three months but can be extended.
