Why do I need MOPS?

Mom, you make time to cook, clean, hug, teach and clean again.

Carol Kuykendall, author of Five-Star Families, uses the example that mothers of preschoolers often feel like a juice box with ten straws sticking out of it. Each member of your family has stuck a straw in you and is drinking as much of you as they can get. When they are full, you feel as deflated as that poor juice box looks with its sides touching each other. It is no wonder you feel like you have nothing left to give as a mother sometimes! Moms have needs too. But how do you meet those needs?

MOPS is a great place to fill up and meet your needs as a mom.

So what are the needs of mothers? In their book, What Every Mom Needs: Balancing your Life, Elisa Morgan, president and CEO of MOPS International, and Carol Kuykendall say there are "6 Needs of Every MOM:"

Identity - I want to find "me" again
Growth - I want space to develop me
Relationship - I want someone to understand me
Help - I want some help!
Perspective - I want to focus on what matters
Hope - I want to find a deeper meaning to life

This motherhood trip wasn't designed for lone rangers. It takes more than one woman against the world to raise a child in this increasingly complex and dangerous world.
Even the pioneers sometimes circled the wagons. Women need one another.
