 Greg’s group serves monthly at City Team Homeless Ministries in Seattle. Marc’s group took a short-term mission trip to India. Robyn’s group serves together, whether it’s hosting, greeting, childcare, set-up, at just about every outreach event held at Overlake.
Life Groups are discovering the value of serving together inside the church, around the corner and around the world. The Serve The World Team is committed to helping you engage in a significant opportunity in the community and world. A great way to bond as a group, model a servant attitude for your children, and care for people is to SERVE LOCALLY as a Life Group. Overlake partners with many local people-helping agencies to bless those in need. Pick one of the opportunities below to participate in as a group.
1. PUT A SMILE ON A CHILD’S FACE
Have a part in making a child’s summer one that they will remember. Participate in the Angel Tree’s annual collection for Angel Tree camping and sign up to volunteer or make a donation. Contact moreinfo@eagleoutreach.org or 206-914-8262.
2. VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH VACATION BIBLE CAMP
Come join The Party July 15-19! No experience necessary – just a heart for kids! Questions? Call Overlake’s Children’s Ministries office at 425.895.5938 or e-mail vbc@occ.org. Join the Team and volunteer.
3. SERVE A MEAL TO SEATTLE’S HOMELESS
Offer a smile and a warm meal to those in desperate need of help. City Team Ministries is an OCC partner that seeks to break the cycle of homelessness and addiction. A great one-time or monthly opportunity. To volunteer, call their office at 206-352-1300.
4. IMPACT THE NEXT GENERATION
Be a part as we turn the building into the coolest place on the Eastside for Jr. Highers. Video games, inflatables, and more. Help set up, tear down, and keep the peace with over 500 kids. Or sign on to be a counselor at summer camp. Contact jakeg@occ.org or 425-284-2518.
5. EXPLORE YOUR GROUP’S UNIQUE SERVING SHAPE
